To cap off our week in paradise, we decided to partake in some touristy activities. We went to Ala Moana Beach Park and to Ala Moana Center.

Click here for the Last Day in Paradise

Ala Moana Center doesn't have to be a mall where you spend all you money on gifts, there are other attractions at Ala Moana such as the food court, the food at Shirokiya, the Koi fish and the performances on the stage. There is always affordable options to places that can be expensive.

At Ala Moana Beach Park, we saw three couples taking their wedding photos. This reminded us that Hawaii is paradise for those who aren't from here. We really hope you enjoyed what we had to show you. We tried to mix a local point of view with that of a tourist to bring you the best and affordable activities.

Make it a Tuesday

Tuesdays are a bargain on the island. We went to Taco Tuesday and enjoyed a $6 Movie.

Click here for Day 6 in Paradise

Taco Tuesday happens a few places on the island. Many people say Serg's Mexican Kitchen is the best Mexican food on the island. There's also Taco Tuesday at Dave and Busters, right next to Ward Stadium. So that is convienent, but the selection at Dave and Busters Taco Tuesday isn't as extensive and there are no alternatives for people who do not like tacos.

We enjoyed a $6 movie at Consolidated Ward Stadium. Hot dogs were $1 and popcorn was only $2. There are also $6 movies at Regal Dole Cannery Stadium. All day tuesday they offer $6 movies. We recommend going early when its not to busy and everyone is at work and at school.

Day 5

Aloha, today we were hoping to relax and enjoy the beauty of the island.

Click here for our fifth day in paradise.

We went to Mt. Tantalus and to Pu'u Ualaka'a State Park. They are basically in the same place, along the way up the mountain there are a few scenic points. We focused on two main spots where there is a clear, unobstructed view.

Please be safe driving up and down since the roads are really curvy and a little steep. We recommend going towards sunset times and at the park, you can stop by your neighborhood 7-11 or ABC Store to buy some spam musubi and have a small picnic while you enjoy the sunset.

Foodie Day Four

Hope you guys aren't too tired to keep enjoying what the island has in store. Today we decided to go to two different food places because we could not decide between the two. We went to Curry House and Yama's Fish Market.

Click here for Foodie Day Four

Curry House has many locations on the island so feel free to pick one that is close to you. With Curry House, you can trust the consistency among the different locations, you can trust they have the same things on the menu and the food will taste just as great. Here you will find a link that leads you to the available locations on the island.

Yama's Fish Market is the only one on the island but there are other local eateries similar to it. At Yama's they have a wide selection of fresh poke and hawaiian food.

Day 3 of your fun filled week!

Today we went to Kapena Falls and Waiola Shave Ice. We hope you guys are taking our suggestions and filling in the rest of your time with your own activities.

Please Click here for Day3 in paradise.

Kapena Falls is a small waterfall about 15 ft. and on the side of the waterfall theres a cliff you can jump off of. The cliff is about 30-40 ft. high. This can be really dangerous so we are not recommending you jump if you do not want to. Its really up to you.
**This activity is not recommended for families with young children.**

Waiola's is a local shave ice place thats super popular with three different locations on the island. Click here for the different locations. The shave ice at Waiola's is really fine and it melts in your mouth really fast.

Day 2 in Paradise

Aloha, we hope you enjoyed your first day in paradise. Today we are going to the Pali Lookout to hike the Pali Puka and to Bubbies.

The Pali Puka is a short hike taking about 30-45 minutes one way. It is a considerably dangerous hike where you will be on the edge of the mountain so we do not recommend it for the elderly or for children. Since it is on the edge of the mountain, you get the most spectacular unobstructed view of the Windward (the east) side of the island.

Bubbies is a local ice cream parlor serving homemade ice cream. Students at the University of Hawaii at Manoa love coming here because of the convenience and for their amazing flavors. They are most well known for their mochi ice cream.

First Day in Paradise on $40 a Day

Click here for Day 1 in Paradise

Today we went to Kaimana Beach and to Phuket Thai. Click on the link and it will bring you to the page. This way you will be able to get directions, a second opinion of the place and information about the hours and parking. We chose these locations because they aren't the common "touristy" things to do that we want to introduce to you. We decided to show only an activity and an eatery per day because we want to allow time for you to do what you want. We hope you enjoy your experience as much as we did.

We spent $49 (with a little rounding in change) altogether so thats about $13 per person for these two activities leaving $37 for the rest of the day for the activities you want to do! We would love to hear about where else you go on your trip so comment below!
